Why Wait Until Tomorrow?

“There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.”
Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics.  Which category do you fall in?

Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today? Often times we shy away from anything that seems too difficult, challenging or impossible. With this train of thought, we are already defeating ourselves. 50% of any task we take on is mental. The other 50% is the work we put into it. When you prepare yourself mentally to take on an assignment, project or goal, then you are much closer to achieving it. This applies to everything we do in life, including our mental and physical well-being. Our health is not seasonal, so why wait until Christmas, New Year or summer to shed a few pounds or get a routine health check? Your health starts with you! We are our only limit. So, we must do whatever it takes to make our lives healthier, and this starts with taking care of ourselves.

Here are a few tips to motivate you:

⏩ Set yourself a goal- maybe you wish to shed some weight by Christmas.
⏩ Give yourself an incentive– the office Christmas party is coming up and you want to wear this beautiful red dress you haven’t been able to fit in for years.
⏩ Make a plan– join a fitness group, health club or find a personal trainer.
⏩ Ask a friend to join you.
⏩ Set targets and rewards– every time you are closer to achieving your goals, reward yourself with a treat.
⏩ Challenge yourself– don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. When you feel too comfortable with your routine, mix it up and keep it interesting.

Our mental and physical health is a lifelong journey; take care of it, reward yourself and enjoy the ride.
