Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT is a talking therapy, designed to treat people with eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia, addiction and depression, and can be useful in treating other mental and physical health problems. CBT can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.

CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You’re shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.

The initial consultation is a free 15 minutes phone consultation, to discuss your needs and how we can best help you before every assessment session.

The course of treatment usually lasts for between 5-10 sessions, with each session lasting around 60 minutes. Sessions are generally weekly. They can be face to face, via Zoom or over the phone. Face to face sessions are £40. Zoom and phone sessions are £35.

What To Expect During Sessions
During the sessions, we will aim to break down your problems into their separate parts, such as your thoughts, physical feelings and actions. We encourage clients to do out of sessions work to help increase learning from in-session work.

The aim of therapy is to teach you to apply the skills you have learn’t during treatment to your daily life and practice the skills independently, thus becoming your own therapist.
