Kim Valente is a level 2 fitness instructor, a level 3 personal trainer, a certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and the owner of Squat2Fit. A competitive athlete for over 20 years, she is a mother of two and after 19 years of working in travel and tourism, Kim decided to ‘take the leap’ and follow her passion for health and fitness by starting her own fitness business. Kim has also assisted with young athletes in developing their athletic abilities, as well as organizing and helping to prepare them for local and regional competitions.
As a young athlete, Kim’s event was the 400m sprint. However, after some time away from the sport, she returned to athletics competitively in 2016 as a mature athlete and uncovered a versatility in a wide range of sprint events including the 100m, 200m and long jump. In August 2018, Kim captured the gold medal in the women’s long jump at the British Masters Outdoor Championships and a gold and silver medal in the women’s long jump and 60m sprints respectively at the British Masters Indoor Championships, Lee Valley Athletics Stadium, London 8-9 March 2020.
In 2021, Kim decided to test her versatility as an athlete and train for a bodybuilding competition. As a result, she won best trained figure, best first timer and overall best female at the Natural Physique Bodybuilding Championships (NPA) on the 28th May 2022, Yorkshire, followed by the female bodybuilding title at the UK Drug Free Bodybuilding Championships (UKDFBA), on the 5th June in Scotland, the UFE European Championships, London 24th September, WNBF Supernaturals UK Fitbody Champion, 9th October and as a result was awarded her pro card and represented team GB at the WNBF World Bodybuilding Championships, Los Angeles California 19th November 2022.
Kim will continue to compete in both bodybuilding and athletics.
